A senior administration official said earlier Monday that the United States conducted a successful counterterrorism operation against a "significant" al Qaeda target in Afghanistan over the weekend and that there were no civilian casualties. The anti-terrorist attack took place in Wazir Akbar Khan, one of the richest neighborhoods in Kabul, which is literally within walking distance of the main diplomatic sites, including the US Embassy.
